Nissan’s Midsized Crossover is Refreshed for 2019

First introduced in 2002, the Nissan Murano won over the hearts of many with its modern styling and versatility with ample space for a midsized crossover. Fast forward nearly 20 years later, and the Nisan Murano enters its third generation, with refreshed styling for 2019. As the most experimental of all of Nissan’s models, the Murano has always had aggressive exterior styling. Design changes are subtle for 2019 with a newly sculpted hood and grille to identify with Nissan’s V-motion design language, and updated headlight and taillights to match. 18” or optional 20” alloy wheels add to the Nissan’s larger than life persona.

One of the largest updates to arrive to the 2019 Nissan Murano is the Safety Shield 360 bundle of driver assist technologies. Safety Shield 360 is composed of features such as autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Rear Door Alert, Nissan’s latest innovative tech, makes its way to the Murano models as well. Coming standard to all new four door Nissan models, Rear Door Alert uses an array of sensors and AI to determine whether a driver has left something (or somebody) important in the rear, and catching their attention with a timed horn. RDA was designed specifically to minimize fatalities of infants and animals that are often times forgotten and end up enduring illness or fatality due to extreme weather conditions.

Technology isn’t the only update to the 2019 Nissan Murano, as the interior adds a noticeably higher level of elegance with touches such as premium leather seat upholstery, to wood and metallic accents along the cabin trim. Eyes are drawn to the center console where the 8” infotainment system is housed. Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make for a seamless connectivity with your smartphone at all times. Continuing with the proven engine, the 2019 Murano is equipped with a 3.5L V6 producing 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque, transferring power to the ground through a CVT transmission.
